Q: My iphone 5s is 2 weeks old why doesn't bluetooth work?

When trying to pair a device we can get up to the "make sure the security numbers are the same" select pair and nothing happens and it will go on being discoverable and looking for other devices but not finding them.

iPhone 5s, iOS 7.0.4

What kind of device is it that you are trying to pair? The iPhone will only pair and connect to devices that support the Bluetooth profiles the iPhone supports.

Hi Chrisj4203 a htc smart phone, my Ipad , a current model car with bluetooth most of which it doesn't recognise.

It will not connect to the HTC.
It will only connect to the iPad if you are using the iPhone as a hotspot.
Try this for trouble with the car bluetooth connection. Usually the problem is not getting the car bluetooth into discovery/pairing mode. You might want to check the vehicle user guide for help. http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3581
