5G Diagnostic Mode

I read that if you go into the iPod's diagnostic mode, then click IO>Audio>Mic, you can record audio using the iPod's included headphones. My 5G 60GB iPod Video doesn't have the Audio option in IO. I was wondering if the 5G Video doesn't have this option or there is a problem with my iPod. Also, I am running iPod firmware 1.1.2 and I also have iPod Linux installed.
