Q: why will the video not transfer from my sd card but the pictures will

i have tried to copy from an sd card via the ipad camera connection kit but only the pictures transfer and not the video

iPad, iOS 7

    The video files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov). Are you using the Photo app to import?

     

    The video may not have a format readable by the iPad.

    not sure about the photo app! the connection kit says insert your card into sd card reader and insert inti ipad, box opens and asks to import
