Aperture VS Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0
Does anyone have a view on how to compare these two applications? Aperture at $300 or Elements at $80, what is the relative value? If money was not an issue, which one would you choose?
The background:
I have roughly 6,000 pictures and growing shot with a Canon Digital Rebel SLR. So far I have not found iPhoto to be good enough to be the sofware I use to edit, share, and manage this collection. On my PC (which I'm trying to leave behind) I use Photoshop Elements 4.0 and I like it a lot.
There are three main things that are important to me:
1- Good sharing tools. I like the PDF slide shows that Elements produces as well as the rest of the sharing tools.
2- Really easy, but powerful editing: Elements has the two easiest sliders that make the most difference very quickly: one lightens shadows and the other darkens bright areas. I can't seem to do the same thing with the sliders in iPhoto.
3- Ease of use and speed. My only complain with Elements (and many other Adobe products) is that they tend to be big and slow.
