Iphone 5s goes balnk with white background and an black apple logo on it . Comes back to normal in couple of seconds.

Somethingi is definitely wrong.
Try resetting your iPhone,
Reset your iPhone by pressing the 'Sleep' and 'Home' button at the same time for about 15 seconds or so. Your iPhone will then go through a reset / reboot procedure and will be ready for use within about a minute.
Don't worry about doing this as you will not lose data or settings.

I did reset the phone .. I am not sure if this will solve the problem .. Will report back here if I see the white screen again .
