Q: Siri is Malfunctioning - Fiance is Blind & Depends on this Functioning Properly
My fiance, who is visually impaired depends on Siri for many things including assisting her at work, making calls, sending texts and emails, etc. She has an iphone 4S. With the recent ios 7 software upgrade, Siri has been malfunctioning on a regular basis. If my fiance gives a command to call an individual, Siri either doesn't respond, attempts to call the wrong person or indicates that it doesn't understand the command. If she tries to command Siri to send a text and then dictates the text, we've heard Siri: 1) send the message in mid dictation (with no more than a second or 2 of a pause and Siri didn't ask to send message it just did it); 2) read back a statement completely different from the one dictated to Siri; or 3) just not respond. I was there when my fiance issued the command "What time is it?" and Siri responded by stating what the day was. She never ever had this much difficulty with Siri before. It was actually very helpful to her on so many fronts given her visual impairment.
There maybe ways to work around this if we can find apps that can do that Siri can do with regard to commands (send text, calls, tell time, weather, check voice mail etc). Right now, Siri is a monumental headache for her. She has enough to worry about.
