No. MS Word is part of MS Office for OSX. It is not an Apple product.

The only time you may need Word itself is if someone gives you a document with Word Macros. Then you have to be careful that they have inspected it for the Word Macro virus anyway. There may be some odd instances where Word documents are formatted a little differently than the clones can read them. In those cases, it may be better just to save the document as a PDF, as more people can read PDFs than Word. When you Print on a Mac with any version of Mac OS X, you have a Save as PDF option in the dialog box.

There are some Windows virtualization options that let you run Word for Windows.

Be sure to change your signature to indicate what operating system is on your Mac. Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac. iOS does not run on Macs. It only runs on iPads, iPhones, iPod Touches and AppleTV.
