Hello.
Does Mac OS X 10.8.5's iPhoto save sent e-mails with image file attachments? I tried to start up never used/ran Apple's Mail, but it wanted me to configure it so I doubt they are in there if it doesn't even know about the newly created iPhoto's e-mail setup.

go to the photo and click on info - the e-maill is available in the info pane

Interesting. I will have to check that later. That is a strange place to keep copies of sent e-mails with their iPhoto attachments.
That is why I use Mail as my email client rather than iPhoto - set your choice in the iPhoto preferences

Ah, webmails are used. Oh well, time to set up Apple's Mail then. 😟
Go to IPHOTO/PREFERENCES/ADVANCED and check the box AUTOMATICALLY BCC MYSELF....Rob
