Q: Can I add my tv, without hdmi output, for multiple displays?

I own a 2010 21.5 inch iMac 3.06 ghz and want to add another display. it has the latest software OS X 10.9 and the graphics card is ATI Radeon HD 4670 356 mb. I don't have a hdmi hook up on the back of my computer. It has a usb, firewire, and some other small hole that has a picture of a circle with 5 rays radiating from it. So basically do they make a cord that converts firewire or usb to hdmi? Can I add my tv to make another display?

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities

Your iMac has got Mini DisplayPort, the port used to connect external displays. You cannot use FireWire or USB to connect displays.

What you need to do is to look at the ports your TV has got and get the Mini DisplayPort adapter and the cable you need. For example, if your TV has got HDMI, get a Mini DisplayPort to HDMI adapter and a HDMI cable
