Upgraded to Windows 8 now says I need to authorize this computer

I have a gateway laptop that I use and I just upgraded it to Windows 8.1 Pro and now this computer is not recognized?

It says it needs to be authorized but it is 1 of 5 machines that I had authorized.

When I try to deauthorize the only options that it gives me is to deauthorize all 5 computers?

I really do not want to have to go back and deauthorize my Macs and iPhone too?

But then again I also just upgraded from an iPhone 3GS to an iPhone 4s? So I guess I will also have to deauthorize the old iPhone too?

You don't need to authorise any of the devices, just PCs/Macs/laptops/netbooks.

You're getting that option because you must already have 5 machines authorised. If you deauthorise all it just means next time you use each of the other machines you need to authorise which takes seconds to do. Apple presumably reads the upgrade as making your existing machine a new one which uses up two authorisations.
