iphone 5s not charging but turns on when plugged

My iphone 5s wont charge when plugged in. My computer wont recognize my phone (like nothing is plugged in).

But the phone will turn on automatically once plugged in.

It seems like the phone recognizes the cable but wont do anything afterwards...?

please help.
