Need help please replacing Sky Router (SR101) with new AirPort Time Capsule (2TB)
Hi,
My existing wireless broadband setup consists of the following:
- BT OpenReach Fibre Modem
- Sky Router (SR101)
I want to replace "2. Sky Router (SR101)" with my brand new Apple AirPort Time Capsule (2TB) so that my updated wireless broadband network would be:
- BT OpenReach Fibre Modem
- Apple AirPort Time Capsule (2TB)
So far I have not had any success and would greatly appreciate in laymans terms what I need to do to achieve my updated wireless broadband network configuration. From posts I've found this should be possible when the BT Openreach modem and the Sky Router are separate boxes.
I've tried replacing the Sky Router (SR101) with the new AirPort Time Capsule and then taking the default configuration options in the AirPort utility which comes up on my MacBook Pro. This has even included resetting the BT Openreach Modem; as well as actually switching off the BT Openreach modem; and even resetting the AirPort Time Capsule via the recessed reset button on its back.
I can connect to the internet using the Sky Router (SR101) but I don't want to use this anymore as I now have a AirPort Time Capsule to do that job. Having to use both units; with the wireless mode on the Sky Router (SR101) switched off; would be silly I think and use up unecessary electricity.
Surely this is easy to achieve and I've just been missing something obvious...
Many thanks!
PS: I'm using the Sky Unlimited Fibre service...
