New to Apple...what is best place to set for opening applications?

    Sorry but I don't understand the question. By open an application do you mean open it as in start it? There really isn't any choice about that so I suspect you must be meaning something else. Can you give more information?

    I'll take another guess. The best and only place to legitimately buy apps for your device is Apple's App Store.

    When I go to launch itunes it says 'This link need to be opened with an application'. Not sure what application to open with.  Like I said....new to this.  Thanks

    Where are you trying to go to iTunes? You use the iTunes app to get to the iTunes Store.

    It sounds as though you're looking at applications in web browser on a computer? If you want to download the app, you have to use iTunes. It's asking you if you want to open iTunes and download the app.
