Keyboard cover issue

I have put a protective clear keyboard cover on my air immediately after buying it.

However iT really impedes my typing ability in reagards to speed as well as spelling accuracy. I just wonder for the people who do have the same cover do you leave it on the entire time or do you put it on after finishing using your mba.

That is take it on and off after typing. Because at this point I am a t a crossroads either risk dirt, sand and dust going into the keyboard without the cover or just leave the cover on but greatly reduce my user ability.

Well The only thing I want to protect the mac from is dust and dirt. I obviously would try never to drink anything near it or spill anything. I will try to take off he keyboard cover before using and then put it back on after using.

I am sure as so many companies make this and other Apple protection products so there must be a market out there. am SURPRISED that not many others have commented on this post to as whether they are using this or not?

There is a 'market' for them, same as for tea kettle cozy covers and doggie sweaters. 😊

Apple additionally now recommends against using these keyboard covers on current Macbook pro line:

"Leaving any material on the top case could result in damage to the display when you close it. This includes palm rest or keyboard covers, as well as any adhesive-backed keycap additions."

Beware of using thick keyboard covers on your Macbook, some pretty ones sold online are rather thick and upon closing your monitor, touch the screen and transfer more finger/hand oil to the LCD but at worst press excessively on the LCD display, especially in the case of the Air and newest Macbook Pro Retina.

There is ultimately very little purposeful use of these keyboard covers if you keep your hands clean, additionally they do not protect against spills as many people presume they do; directly yes, but at the edges no. They also making typing a more challenging experience and run a fine line between 'serves no purpose' and 'possibly damaging'.
