Q: I won an IPhone in a raffle draw while attending an event in the Philippines and don't know who to go to for unlocking as the carriers here don't offer unlocking!

I won an IPhone 5 at an Event in the Philippines and the carrier SMART' s parent company raffled the IPHONE and they don't offer unlocking. I'm an expat and travel frequently how do I use the phone without unlocking! Who do I contact to unlock the device? At smart they say contact Apple in the US!!! We can't help u!

Only the original cellular provider can unlock the iPhone. If they refuse to do so, your best bet would be to sell it and use the proceeds to purchase an unlocked version.

If the carrier does not offer unlocking, there is nothing you can do.
