Having trouble maintaining remote desktop connection with Mavericks. What is this about needing RDC 3.7.1 with Mavericks. I downloaded RDC 3.7.1 but it does not replace RDC 2.1.0 previously installed
Delete 2.1.0, it is not compatible with Mavericks, or Mountain Lion. I have never heard of 3.7.1, so delete that as well.
The current (and recommended) version is 8.0.3, you can get it from the App Store.
Thanks. Take a look at this link to see what I was talking about regaring RDC 3.7.1. By the way, RDC 2.1.0 was working fine for me under Mountain Lion.

Lucky you, it did not work for many users (which as it should be) so MS produced a new version, for ML and Mavericks.
It's in the App Store, for free.
FYI, I assume that you were attempting to post a picture, no one can see it (except maybe you) because it is on your computer rather than the forum server.

Use the small camera icon in the editor toolbar to post it.
It also looks like you attempted to use Apple Remote Desktop, which does not do Windows.

I am using RDC as a client to reach and control my Windows based desktop computer at work. Currently I am using RDC 2.1.0 with Cisco AnyConnect 3.1.03103. Before Mavericks this worked beautifully. Now, I can still connect but can't hold the connection for more than 2-3 minutes before I am dropped. I note that Cisco has a work around numbered 3.1.04074, but I am unwilling to try it until I hear from someone that it actually solves my problem.

Actually it is the only link here, so it's clearly more useable than the one that does not exist.

That is Apple Remote Desktop client and it has nothing to do with Microsoft Remote Desktop. The two programs use different protocols.
