Heat comparison between MacBook and Dell laptop

I know it's not an MBP, but it's still interesting to read.

Hahaha who is this idiot that wrote the article?

"I noticed that for both laptops, the bottoms were warmer than the tops. I find this rather discouraging since it is a laptop and the bottom of it does go on your lap."

Why does he keep referring to them as laptops?? This clearly discredits him.

Temperature readings are what I expected, although one must take into account how much thinner the Macbook is than the Latitude to understand why it runs hotter.

When will you finally drop the "it's not a laptop" spiel? Can't you understand that noone ever said it's NOT a laptop and it CAN'T or MUSTN'T be used on a lap?

Here's a quote from the manual, once again:
"Do not leave the bottom of your MacBook Pro in contact with your lap or any surface of your body for extended periods. Prolonged contact with your body could cause discomfort and potentially a burn."

Point is, those "extended" and "prolonged" are there only so you can't sue them for any damage caused by heat. Like i said, noone ever said it's not meant to be used on your lap.

Not the point here, but i actually have a habit of grabbing the laptop from the table, using it on my lap for 10-30 minutes (to read mail, send some files to and fro etc.) then putting it to sleep and returning it to the table.

Yes they are, with a metal shell inside, just like the Dell.
So the comparison really is valid from that standpoint.

Just BTW, i find the reviewers train of thought a bit strange. Both machines are hotter on the bottom than on the top and that makes them less usable as portables? Pardon my french, but ***?

What, he'd rather have 50+ degrees on the keyboard and wrist rests?
