Have you selected the correct type of security protection?

As I recall, the WPA and WPA2 protected networks require at least 8 characters. The WEP protected networks can get by with fewer. If there is a way to indicate your network is WEP protected, that should solve this.

Please understand WEP security is much weaker than WPA.
