Is memory from a mid 2010 MBP compatible with a mid 2010 MacBook?

Both me and my next door neighbour bought ourselves new Macs at the end of 2010. I got myself a 15" MacBook Pro, which had 4GB of memory factory fitted, and he got a 13" MacBook.

We've both noticed our Macs getting a bit slow lately, with lots of spinning beachballs.

So I bought myself an 8GB memory upgrade kit for my MBP, which has made it into what seems like a new Mac.

My neighbour's MacBook allegedly has a maximum memory capacity of 4GB, (2 x 2), and now I rather conveniently have exactly that, which I removed from my MBP.

So my question is, will the memory I removed from my MBP be compatible with me neighbour's MacBook, or will he have to buy himself an upgrade too?

The two factory fitted memory cards I removed from my MBP are made by Hynix, and are labelled thus:

2GB 2Rx8 PC3-8500S-7-10-F2

HMT125S6TFR8C-G7 NO AA-C 1046

MacBook Pro (15-inch Mid 2010), OS X Mavericks (10.9)
