Dec 15, 2013 5:46 AM in response to DebWallaceby King_Penguin,Audiobooks are a one-time only download, they will only download onto the device/computer that you buy them on - they won't show in iCloud nor automatic downloads nor in iTunes Match (Match is music only).
If you downloaded them on your iPad then they should be in its Music app, you will get an Audiobooks option in the app when you have audiobooks in it. If they are still on your iPad then you can copy them from there to your computer's iTunes via File > Devices > Transfer Purchases and you can then sync them to your iPhone.

Dec 21, 2013 3:13 PM in response to DebWallaceby Chris.Krivonyak,I recently "lost" some audiobooks purchased on my iPhone 5s. I also "lost" the Audiobooks tab in Music. I could find and play the content by searching the entire iPhone for the book's title. After stumbling around for far too long, I turned the device off and back on. No more problems -- should have tried that first.
