bonjour system service has been disabled and my iphone isn't being recognized by my computer

it says on my itunes prefrences that my bonjour system service has been disabled, and when I go to the services and applications on the computer management it says that bonojour has started. it says stop this service in the top left which I think means it's running. I've even tried uninstalling and reinstalling itunes on my computer and it still says the same thing. How do I enable the bonjour system service?

Also when I connect my phone to my computer with the usb cord nothing happens. My iphone isn't popping up on my itunes anymore. Even when I try to go to the computer folder it doens't show up. My photos can still be downloaded though. So how can I get my computer to recognize my phone to put music on it?

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4

Hi samanthamarie1225,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. This article addresses the issue of iTunes not recognizing your iPhone and may help:

If you're using Windows XP, Bonjour may not work due to firewall settings. This article covers that particular cause:

If neither article helps, any additional information provided such as Windows version, exact error messages, etc, may help.

Cheers,
