Grainy image with the VIEWSONIC VX2025wm 20" LCD

I've just got a VX2025wm - the image looks all grainy, it's like it's recognizing 'thousands' of colors instead of millions. The tech support at Viewsonic is lousy. Basically they have no drivers for OS 10.x so they tell you to install color profiles for the monitor that adjust the color a bit but don't solve the problem.

Thanks for getting back to me! i checked all the connections and i did try both the digital and analog connections. Turned the monitor on and off, is there anyway of really 'resetting' the monitor? any other way other than turning the power on and off?

i also tried downloading the updated drivers for the graphics card. I'm not sure how to look for the drivers though.. this is the info that shows in the "about this mac":
ATY,RV350:

Type: display
Bus: AGP
Slot: SLOT-1
VRAM (Total): 64 MB
Vendor: ATI (0x1002)
Device ID: 0x4150
Revision ID: 0x0000
ROM Revision: 113-A13601-126

Display:

Type: display
Display Type: LCD
VRAM (In Use): 64 MB
Resolution: 1680 x 1050 @ 60 Hz
Depth: 32-bit Color
Main Display: Yes
Mirror: Off
Online: Yes

I guess is the ATI drivers? i hope i got the right ones.. nothing changed with the ones i downloaded.. 😟

Thanks!

I just purchased that monitor to replace my very old Apple 17 until I can get a Apple 23".
I know what your seeing. I calibrated mine and it looks pretty good as long as you are directly in front of it.
Try this, open up your 'Displays' control in 'System Preferences', select 'Color' select 'calibrate', select 'Expert Mode' box and try to get a better setting. This should solve your problem.
