How lock destop screens in the order I want them?

I like to spread my applications across mutlitple desktop screens and I like them in a certain order. Over time eventually the of the screens change and I'm not sure why it does that. I like using the 3 finger gesture to switch between my screens but idk if that has to do with it. I can't seem to figure out how to lock the desktop screens in the order I want them so when I swipe across screens I know where to go. Thanks for the help!

Hello Domio,

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with Mission Control. I definitely understand your desire to keep the spaces in a specific order.

I think assigning applications to specific spaces could help in keeping your spaces organized:

Decide which spaces to use with particular apps

If you work in multiple spaces, you can assign apps to particular spaces.

  1. Press and hold an app’s icon in the Dock. You may have to first open the app from Launchpad to see its icon in the Dock.
  2. From the shortcut menu that appears over the icon, choose one of these:
    • To have the app open only in the current space, choose Options > This Desktop. From now on, the app will open in the current space; if you are working in a different space, the app’s space scrolls into view. This setting doesn’t apply to full-screen windows, which always appear in their own separate spaces.
    • To have the app open in every space, choose Options > All Desktops. From now on, when the app is open it will appear in every space.
    • To have the app open in the space you are currently using, choose Options > None.

In Mission Control preferences, you can specify that when you switch to an app, your desktop should scroll to a space with open windows for that app.

Thank you for your answer. I'm having the same trouble.

I want to make my desktops in an order that I want. I want to have my first 3 desktops locked and others dynamic in example:

- When I full screen an app in desktop 1 it should move the app where desktop 4 is not. Currently It opens in desktop 2.

- From Dock When I click an the app from desktop 4 where the app is opened in desktop 1 it should jump me to desktop 1 but when I four swipe to the right, it shouldn't have moved desktop 4 to the place where desktop 2 should have been since it is locked. It should switch to desktop 2.

Hope I explained clearly. Thanks.
