Importing larger videos from iPhone to iPhoto not working

When trying to import videos taken on iPhone 5 or 5S that are longer than 1 min, iPhoto stops importing and ejects iPhone. Help!! Need to get priceless video off my iPhone and saved.

Use Image Capture to upload the movies to a folder on the Desktop and try importing from there.

Thank you Old Toad! I was able to get the video copied to my desktop. Now let's hope I can get it saved to iPhoto on my NAS and then deleted from my desktop and my iPhone. Still amazes me that Apple doesn't have a seemless solution for this. People take more than 2 min videos all the time on their iPhones.
