New to mac notebook

This is how new I am. I followed the directions to begin using my new notebook than didn't use it for a time. I can't remember my sign on password!!

I am new to the MAC world. My non Mac computer prompts me on how to reset my pasword. My Mac does not. Can someone help me please?
