Can't delete expired rental movies from iCloud

I'm so tired of every time there is an update with the OS nothing works for months. I have read all the solutions and it is ridiculous that I can not delete expired rentals from iCloud. When my son sees a movie that he watched and has expired, he goes nuts because I can't put it back on. He is three and I'm as frustrated as he is. I can not delete the movie icons from my iPad. They are there with a cloud in the lower ring corner. I turned off the share video option. Which corrupted two rentals I did not view yet. I reset my iPad but when I turned iCloud back on it put them right back. Does anyone have a different solution to remove expired rentals? I can't even sync playlists from iTunes Match. Feels like apple is going down the drain. Before anyone says just switch, I'm too invested with iPads iPhones, macs and peripherals to start this crap over.

I was able to remove the expired movie by repeatedly pressing on the play button and the icloud symbol to download or play the expired movie. Itunes asked a few times for my username/password and after a few attempts at persistent pressing of the try to play or download the expired movie and being challenged a few times for my iTunes credentials, the movie cleared from my iCloud movies and the Rentals option disappeared from my iPad. Hopefully some of this persistent approach forces the cache on your device to sync up with iTunes and clears the expired movie for you. Good luck!

This did work and Hopefully the solution sticks next time I sync my iPad.

Apple this is directed at you, this needs fixing. We shouldn't have to go to these lengths just to remove unwatchable movies. I must say along with not being able to remove updated app icons this is some buggy software and some really poor software testing, you need some better test analysts.

Go to Settings > Videos and turn off the Show All Videos switch.

There seems to be another problem associated with all this. In settings, when I tried to change the country/region of my ITunes store, I got the error message that I have rentals that have not expired.

Best solution I found is to buy a Nexus 7 and rent movies from amazon, unfortunately apple is not doing a good job. Lately and I am tired of trying to find solutions, things should work as expected

Used to be a super advocate, now I believe google and Microsoft are doing a better job at quality

On your ipad I clicked on the Video icon, rentals and then in the upper right I see the word edit. I hit edit and then can delete each movie on ipad. Then they are off for good.

I was in contact with an iTunes representive who concluded that there was a bug that would probably be resolved at a later update. I presume that one of the recent updates included an ability to edit and remove the offending items - thanks, yoslater, for drawing attention to this.
