Q: MagSafe2 connector intermittently not responding
Evening everyone! I've got an issue with my MagSafe 2 charger on my rMBP 13". What's happening is when I plug my rMBP in to charge, It will not respond. No little hum from the brick, no light, no change on the menu bar.....nothing. I got it lauch week in Oct 2012, but since then, I've gone through 2 chargers, possibly about to be a 3rd.
To try and troubleshoot, I will wiggle it around (as much as can be done), I've cleaned the contacts to ensure nothing is blocking them, and I've checked the adapter cord and connection to make sure nothing was loose at the wall outlet. I always have 4 chargers at any given time (Work, Living room, desk, and one for my travel bag), and they have all had this issue happen at one time or another in this last year. I replaced the first 2 chargers, because they were the L-style MagSafe with the adapter on it, so I figured, maybe they had enough and were finally going out, but the one's I have now are all the new T-style MagSafe2 65w connectors.
At this point, I'm not sure where to go with this. I've got AppleCare, but the geniuses haven't really been able to do anything with previous "intermittent problems" on other computers i've had, so i really don't expect anything different. I've tried the SMC reset steps( about a month ago) and the issue seems to still be present. I'm worried at some point, I may be in a situation where the charger isn't responding at all, and I'll really need it ! Is there something else I could try, or is it looking like a hardware issue, either from the rMBP or chargers?
