I was just wondering if Pages, Numbers, iPhoto, and iMovie are really free for December 16, 2013

I was browsing through the top charts and I found Pages, Numbers, iMovie and iPhoto in the free section so i clicked the buttons with the prices and clicked buy because I thought they were free but I'm not sure now if they really are. Can someone please confirm that they are free?

I was so puzzled when I saw few days ago all apple apps in the free chart section but with a price tag on it. They used to be in the paid section. My gut tells me this is a little scam by Apple. They confused tons of people this way and made extra money by doing this trick.

I really want to to know why it is like this. Forums seem to be quiet and nobody asked this question except you.

It has already been many days since these apps were moved to free section, yet still have a price tag on it.

Does anybody know what this means? Is it free or not?

You did not answer anyone's question in this discussin. You just blindly repeated apples policy.

I just found the answer to the main question, because I decided to purchase the app from the free section. In he final result I ended up paying 10 dollars for pages, unfortunately.

So what I did immidiately was contacting apple support to issue the refund. After 2 hours I received my money back.

you need to go to iTunes and click on your account. Once you are in your account page, you should find something called "Puchase History". Go there and find the transaction for iWork. The entire transaction might be listed together with other apps you downloaded in the same time. So you need to dig a bit to find the actual transaction.

Once you find the transaction you should click on the REPORT A PROBLEM link. In this link you wiill specify you want to receive a refund and give them a reason. They should reply to you shortly.
