How long should I charge my macbook pro retina 13.3 battery?

I want to know, I charge my macbook pro retina 13.3 battery and i left it. It was 19% when I put in charge. I let it in charge like for 2-3 hrs and I came to see, light indicator was green. I knew It was overcharged. Can this damage my battery life? What is the good charge time for macbook pro 13.3? What is the maximum charge hour?

The battery will Not Overcharge. The green light means it is Fully charged but that does not mean you have to disconnect the AC charger. You will cause No Harm to the system or the battery leaving it plugged in.

You cannot overcharge the battery. Leaving the AC adaptor connected will not damage the battery or the battery's life. The battery is fully charged when the charging light turns green. At that time the charging circuit is shut off until the battery's charge drops to 93% at which point the charger starts charging again.
