I would like to update my applications, using my current Apple ID, but I do not see to get my old Apple ID out of the system it keeps coming back, and I do not remember my old Apple ID. HOW DO I RESET MY IPad so that I do not loss my files.

Anything Downloaded with a Particular Apple ID is tied to that Apple ID and Cannot be Merged or Transferred to a Different Apple ID

You need to delete all the applications associated with that Apple ID and then download them from the desired one; this may require repurchasing paid applications.
