Every time i use a two finger swipe to page back safari locks up.
I tried this at the apple store today on a Macbook pro and it did the exact same thing.
OS X 10.9 Safari 7.0
Has anyone else noticed this and is there a solution ?
Just did the update to Mav and Safari 7.0.1 locks on two finger swipe here too. NOT good, please fix, Apple.
Just installed the new 10.9.1 update and so far the problem has gone away.
A little more time will tell if this has been fixed but so far so good.
For me, it was only after I updated to 10.9.1 yesterday that this problem has arrived.
I agree, that is when my problem started -- after the 10.9.1 update.
For some strange reason, the problem went away after I repaired disk permissions and then restarted the computer. Haven't had an issue since. Go figure!

Still no problems for me after installing the udpate yesterday.

Yes, I restarted and also decided to reset the PRAM in the process, and it's now working correctly.
Hope it worked for you too, mines been fine all day!
I'm fairly new to Mac in general, so I'm making the assuption that PRAM is the disk permissions? Please correct me if I'm wrong.
How does someone go about resetting the 'pram' so I can solve this problem.
For the record I didn't get this probem until I updated to OS 10.9.1.
So, I've seemed to solve this problem, in the interm at least.
1) Open disk utility
2) Select your HDD
3) Click "Verify Disk Permissions"
4) Click "Repair Disk Permissions" (assuming there was an issue)
5) Once complete, restart your mac
These steps worked for myself, and I've been messing around with both chrome and safari and the two finger scroll hasn't broken yet.
The problem has returned. This time two finger swipe attempt locks up all safari tabs so that I can no longer scroll through the pages. If I close the Tab that I tried the two finger swipe then I get scrolling back on the other tabs.
I miss the Old Apple where things just worked.
Hope there is a permament resolution for this soon.
