deauthorization problems

i deauthorized three computers to make room for a new computer to be authorized, and when i try to authorize this new computer, itunes says i currently still have 5 authorized computers/devices though when i check there are only two devices. i tried closing itunes and reopening it five minutes later, but it's still prompting me to deauthorize other computers to make room for this new authorization.
