10.8.0 through 10.8.5 systems were all known as Mountain Lion.
Mavericks is 10.9 for now.
iMac PPCs don't support either Mountain Lion or Mavericks. PPC is shorthand for PowerPC, the CPU found in Macs prior to 2006. Apple replaced PPC with Intel in 2006. Go to Apple menu -> About This Mac to determine what you have on your Mac if you have one.
