Does iMessage work in Argentina to U.S. iMessage users?

I will be traveling to Argentina and wondering if iMessage works on wifi? I will be turning off my data on my phone so not to incur charges (airplane mode). Will facetime work also?

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.3

Yes. Country doesn't matter, either for iMessages or Facetime. So long as you have a good Wi-Fi connection and the owner of the connection doesn't do any unusual site blocking, it should work just fine.
