I have a disaster on my hands

I upgraded to OSX 10.9 Mavericksi only to find that FCP 7 will not work on OSX 10.9 and be told by apple that I would need to upgrade to FCP X if using OSX 10.9

After doing this I found that I can't open my existing on going FCP7 projects in FCPX

Now I can't open the old FCP program, and I can't open my projects in the new program. I am in total nomans land without any way to access my work.

Help Help Please

but in the meantime I have FCP-7 running successfully on Mavericks.

Use Disk Utility to repair your disk permissions, then go to Digital Rebellion at

http://www.digitalrebellion.com/prefman/

and download Preference Manager (free) and use it to trash your FCP preferences.

Then try launching FCP.

@Meg The Dog,

Once you upgraded your OS X to Mavericks, did you attempt to open FCP 7 or did you do the advice you gave @duncanmoir?

I am still using Snow Leopard on my iMac running Final Cut Studio 3. I would like to update my OSX to be current. Reading that you have FCP7 running successfully is reassuring!
