I have saved all of the photos on my Iphone 5 to my PC. Now I want to delete them from my phone only to free up space and take more pictures and video. How do I do this?

You sould have been given the option to delete them after importing when you imported them, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.
To do this on your phone, open the album you want to delete photos from (so you are viewing the thumbnails), tap Select, tap the photos, then tap the trash icon. (There is no "select all" option.)
Does this mean that I have to go through over 1,600 pictures on the camera roll, 916 pictures on My Photo Stream and delete each one individually?
