Q: Please help Want to give Ipad to grandson

I want to give my IPad2 to my grandson but need to reformat and reinstall necessary progrs.  Have searched but to little avail.

 

If I save stuff in ICloud can it be retrieved after I do the reforat?

 

I have forgotten my passcode, how can I do a reformat or reset of iPad2?

 

What should I reinstall onto iPad2 and how do I download software as I do not have the install cd's as in a traditional computer.

    If you mean things you wish to keep for your own use, yes. Just sign into your iCloud account on whatever computer or iPad/iPhone/iPod touch you'll be using.

    What passcode are you referring to? If you mean the screen lock passcode, you'll need to restore the iPad. For information and instructions, see:

    Nothing other than the base operating system. None of your other content can be legally transferred to your grandson, and apps and most other content you purchased from the iTunes Store can't be transferred at all.

    All software for the iPad is obtained through the iTunes Store. If you want to give your grandson specific apps or other content, give it to him as a separate gift. See:

    All iPads run iOS. Safari is the web browser that is included as part of that operating system.
