Q: A number suddenly showed up on my App Store icon (like the number that indicates number of emails Mail icon).  What does the number indicate and how get rid of it?

Got rid of one--thanks.  the 2nd says an upgrade for OS system is available but when I click download, it tells me the download is available on another account so doesn't download it.  Not aware of anothr account, so any ideas on how to find such?

So, is there a way to get rid of the number 1 on the App icon if I don't purchase or download the upgrade?

Another thought.  I just bought an IPad and opened an account for Apps on it.  I've been using the account and password for that accouint on my minimac where the icon problem is.  I was able to download one upgrade which cut one number, but the OS upgrade would not download--maybe because it thinks I'm on the IPad with a different operating system.  If I had an account on the minimac, I forgot the address and password.  Can you tell me how to change to an account and find the password instead of opening on the Ipad account?
