After iOS 7.0.4 update, my internal speaker stopped working.

After updating to ios 7.0.4 the internal speaker stopped working on my iPod touch 5. The headphone hack still works, but unless I have an external sound source hooked up, I miss important info due to no spund for alerts. I have checked all sound related settings and resented my iPod touch, but this these measures did not work. Is there anything I can do, or will I have to wit for the next update for this to be fixed?

first make sure mute switch by volume is off

next, blow out the headphone hole with compressed air or atleast olug and unplug headphones several times to clear any lint or debris.

if no result force quit all apps and hard reset see

Press and hold BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button until you see the Apple logo on the screen.

if still no result

back up device in itunes or icloud

then

recovery mode

open itunes on computer

plug cable into computer not iOS device

turn device off

hold home button and plug cable into IOS device. do not release home button until an itunes graphic appears on IOS device.

look to computer should have message about recovery mode click ok and restore

set up as new device and test. have repaired if not working

restore backup if ok

- Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so. There is a little switch in the headphone jack that disconnects the speaker when the headphone jack is inserted.

Try the following to rule out a software problem

- Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost

Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at

least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

- Reset all settings

Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

- Restore from backup

- Restore to factory settings/new iPod.

- Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack or other hardware problem.
