I have two 6th generation nano's that have been rendered useless after the latest software upgrade. They will not swipe and are not controllable. They were fine before this. Any suggestions? Can the software be downgraded to the last version?

Are you using a Mac or Windows? What upgrade?
I'm using Windows 7 and whatever upgrade was installed today on the ipod by apple.

I have this same problem. Useless iPod after the last software update (just installed today, upon the usual prompt from Apple telling me to update the software as soon as I connected the USB cable). Now it's not recognized by Apple, though a folder does pop up through Windows (8.1).
