WirelessIs the new "modem and router" a combination device or separate units? Regardless what is it's make & model? What are the exact models of your AirPort base stations? Finally are both AirPorts connected back to the modem/router by Ethernet or by wireless?

Dec 17, 2013 8:08 PM in response to Tesseraxby stevenfromlaguna beach,Thanks for responding. The new modem/router is a Netgear combo. It's a Netgear CG3000D. The base stations are Airport Express 802.11n (1st gen). They were connected by wireless but no aren't connected. I did have to reconfigure my MacBook Pro and Apple TV to get them to work on WiFi. Using OS 10.8.5.

WirelessOk, if your goal is to use the two AirPort base stations to extend the wireless network provided by the Netgear router using a wireless connection between them, then this won't work as the two are incompatible for this feature.
However, if you can use wired connections then the three can be reconfigured for a roaming network which basically provides the same thing.

Dec 19, 2013 9:36 PM in response to Tesseraxby stevenfromlaguna beach,Thanks so much. I had a feeling that these were incompatibe with the new modem/router. I'm thinking I'll try to hook the new one up to the airport express via wire and see what happens there. I can't exactly hook up the base stations with wire so I'll give that a try.
Thanks so much for your help!
