cellular Date for I Phone 3?
Do you need cellular date to text and use a I Phone 3 as your phone. And if we do use a I phone without it, will AT&T add that to my bill.

Yes, ATT will not allow an iPhone (or any smart phone) on their network without a data plan. They have been known to add a data plan to your bill once they detect you are using an iPhone.
Even if you do not use any data, they will charge you for a data plan if using a smart phone.
