Headphones not working, iphone 5 IOS7, tried different pairs different apps. Barely sound?

I have an iPhone 5 with IOS7.0.4 and I use my headphones usually, the longest if even then I used them would have been a couple a days after thanksgiving, but I think I've used them after that. For some reason, my sound works perfectly fine without headphones but then when I plug them in they BARELY come out with any sound. I've used the iPhone earbuds, regular earbuds, actual headphones, tried different songs, tried on Youtube, Vine, MP3 app, nothing works. I think someone messed with my sound settings the other day, but I'm not sure. I know they were messing aruond with my settings and I think they said something about sound but when I looked nothing involved headphones. Help?
