iMessage says "not delivered" but are being received?

A few days ago my iMessage stared acting up. When I send an iMessage it will instantly show that it has been delivered. But seconds later I will get a notification saying that the message has not been delivered. People are replying to the messages, indicating that they are receiving them. I have tried turning my iMessage on and off, and resetting my phone.

Same issue here. Kind of frustrating. I haven't verified it is iPhone only yet (will try today) as when I send on my Mac the phone is always on and same issue happens. I'll switch the phone off for a while and see what happens. I reset network settings and it made no difference. I'm reluctant to wipe and start again as when I restore from backups for this type of issue I tend to get the same results. Not looking forward to a trip to the Genius Bar this time of year.

Try turning off iMessage on your phone, waiting a couple of mins and turning it back on on your phone. This patch has been working for me since 1/17. I have received an occasional Message not delevered which could be legitimate but I think total these have been less than 10 since the 17th. WAY better than before.

I don't have an issue any more. I really can't give a categorical answer, but I removed imessage capability from the two computers I had set up to receive messages and now I only receive them on my phone and ipad. I suspect there is some kind of bug when you have more than a couple of devices set up, maybe when 1 out of your several devices cannot be contacted by apple to confirm delivery, so the bug assumes failure of delivery for all devices. Or maybe just a plain bug when you have several devices set up. Either way, just reduce the amount of devices and see what happens. It's a shame as I liked the service when it worked 😟

Originally when I encountered the problem I had imessage set up on iPhone 5, iPad mini, Mac mini and Macbook air. I removed the two computers form the mix and no issue.

Anyone have help on this if I only have one device? I am only using iPhone 5, no other devices with iMessage. The "not delivered" is only happening with one group message with 2 other individuals - but if I message those individuals by themselves, the iMessages go through. I've tried restarting, turning iMessage on and off, nothing... but all 3 of us in the group message are having this problem. Not delivered messages but they actually are being delivered.

It almost sounds like the issue is not on your iMessage but theirs. When mine was broken anyone who message me received the error but only when the messages me. I received the error with everyone I sent a message to. I suspect if you check with the people you are receiving the error with they are having the issue with more than just you.
