Q: Why can't I update my Ipod Touch 5th Generation to IOS7 ?

Hello, I am new here, so I hope it's the right place to post and i hope someone will help me !

Ok so there's my problem :

I got an Ipod 5th generation but i can't update it to IOS7 ( its jailbroken )

first : I cant update it from Settings -> General -> Software Update ( i got the notification ) but when i enter it keeps searching for software!

second : tried from itunes ( Newest version ) but when it start to install, i get an error : " your device has disconnected..." I tried this 3 times

and the same thing happened.

Any Help ?

Place the iPod in DFU mode and then restore via iTunes. Your iPod shuldbe updateed

Otherwise:
Jailbreaking voids the Apple warranty and also means that you will not get any support from Apple, including from this Apple forum. Jailbreaking can't be discussed in this Apple forum.
Unauthorized modification of iOS has been a major source of instability, disruption of services, and other issues

That didn't work.

I have put Ipod in DFU mode, but after 10 minutes ( while downloading update ) from having the Cable and Itunes screen, the Ipod Re-turned On, and the Home Screen was back again.

and then the same thing happened :

any Help ??

Try disabling the computer's antivirus and firewall.
- Next try the manual install method of:
iDevice Troubleshooting 101 :: iPhone, iPad, iPod touch
Place the iPod in recovery mode after the firmware download is complete and then restore using the instructions in the article. Sometimes recovery mode timeouts and returns to disabled before the firmware download is complete.
- Then try on another computer
