Could someone tell me why crackle does not work on Apple TV?

Crackle doesn't work on Apple TV. Is there a fix for this bug in the pipeline?

drwv, can you please confirm if you 1st reset your apple tv, then proceeded to power cycle your router?

I've also noticed the same low quality image on the PBS app as well. My guess is they coded it to favor less buffer stalls, which is unfortunate when you're on a Gigabit fiber connection such as myself. I used to notice Netflix occasionally stalling during prime viewing hours, however I've never had a single stall now that I'm upgraded to fiber optic. It would be nice if they could have the Apple TV settings unique to each app, that way the developers could include the menu option of user adjusted buffer caching, thus eliminated their need to overly compress the video.

Thank you

OK, no problem. Yes I had tried doing the factory reset. Upon rebooting, it ran through all of the updates and set everything to a clear state in every app. After re-entering my Crackle account and successully logging in, it continues to do the exact same error. Doesn't matter what video I click in Crackle. Nothing will stream.

Thank you for the follow-up. I'll continue to wait for a patch to be issued by Apple.

If you have changed your dns to access out of region content (ie. American netflix while living in Canada) you have to change it back to automatic to access Crackle. It'd be nice to have both, but I'm not sure if you can. Go to general>network>Wi-fi and click on your network and change configure DNS to automatic if it isn't. If this isn't your issue then good luck finding the answer. This is what it was for me.

MarviHats, I think you are on to something here. I got it to work after resetting to Cupertino, then reverted it back to my city and it is broke again. Now resetting to Cupertino does not fix the issue either.

APPLE, QUIT DRAGGING YOUR FEET ON THIS OR IF YOU CANNOT GET CRACKLE TO ADDRESS THE ISSUE, REMOVE IT FROM APPLE TV. YOU'RE WASTING MY TIME.

Guys I found it by accident... j'ai trouvé !

I had the same problem and I follow wrongly the previously given instruction and Voilà... BINGO !

Go to Setting then General then Regional Format and change it for United State; works instantly !

En Français :

Aller à Réglage puis Général puis Format Régional et sélectionnez États-Unis; fonctionne immédiatement après ce changement.

Hope it remains like this but so far so good !

Cheers ! Salud ! Santé !
