It does work.
If help is desired, start by providing details of the issue that is occurring. "doesn't work" is essentially a useless statement.

I'm logged into crackle. Attempts to launch any content within crackle yields the following error message:
"There was an error playing the content. Try again later. ".
I've tried this everyday since the addition of crackle to Apple TV, rest the unit twice, and have tried to separate crackle account logins. Same result every time. Thus, there is a bug.
No, it simply is not a bug. That is screwy logic.
Settings > General > Reset
Power cycle the router.
This has nothing to do with the router. Everything else works fine. Also, stating that this is bad logic does not make sense. It is a bug. I am looking to see if others are noticing it as we'll. Stop making assumptions. You are wasting my time. Quit replying to this thread.
Also, I stated earlier that I already reset the Apple TV.
diesel vdub's suggestion worked for me, hope you manage to resolve your issue.
The quality of the image is pretty poor though, despite having selecting HD versions and running a good internet connection - what do you expect from a free movie service though?
drwv, can you please confirm if you 1st reset your apple tv, then proceeded to power cycle your router?
I've also noticed the same low quality image on the PBS app as well. My guess is they coded it to favor less buffer stalls, which is unfortunate when you're on a Gigabit fiber connection such as myself. I used to notice Netflix occasionally stalling during prime viewing hours, however I've never had a single stall now that I'm upgraded to fiber optic. It would be nice if they could have the Apple TV settings unique to each app, that way the developers could include the menu option of user adjusted buffer caching, thus eliminated their need to overly compress the video.
Thank you
sorry if I wasn't clear - all I did was reset Apple TV by going to Settings>General>Reset. I didn't power cycle my internet router - that gets a power cycle once a week due to a maintenance schedule.
OK, no problem. Yes I had tried doing the factory reset. Upon rebooting, it ran through all of the updates and set everything to a clear state in every app. After re-entering my Crackle account and successully logging in, it continues to do the exact same error. Doesn't matter what video I click in Crackle. Nothing will stream.
Thank you for the follow-up. I'll continue to wait for a patch to be issued by Apple.
If you have changed your dns to access out of region content (ie. American netflix while living in Canada) you have to change it back to automatic to access Crackle. It'd be nice to have both, but I'm not sure if you can. Go to general>network>Wi-fi and click on your network and change configure DNS to automatic if it isn't. If this isn't your issue then good luck finding the answer. This is what it was for me.
Thanks for the reply, however after trying the steps you mentioned, it didnt work. It is looking like this is an unfixable issue. Good thing my warranty expired 1 week before this latest update.
Has anyone had any luck with Roku? Im wondering if theres a 3rd party airplay app also for it.
Check the Roku website.
Hi I am getting same error message. An error occurred while loading this content on every single movie. Been tryin for hours. But the funny thing is I used it 2 or 3 nights ago. Not sure what's going on. Anyone know the answer pls post.
I have the same problems but it only gives errors on some content. Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee gives errors on the full content but lets you watch the 1 minute preview of the next show. It's sort of hit & miss. In order to watch Comedians... I need to airplay it from my iPod.
I think the problem is with crackle... I tried to reset Apple TV and it worked! I also think I played around with the setting and put sydney as timezone... And noticed the problems then. I reset it and now it's Cupertino which is in us so I think this me be solution so try looking at your timezone settings but of course I'm not 100% sure
