Unable to activate iPhone 4S using Apple ID after back up/restore

Hello everyone.

I was having trouble with syncronizing my iPhone so I thought it would be best to back it up & restore it back to it's factory settings.

Once this was complete I was back to basics... As if I had only just turned the phone on for the first time.

However when i went to log in usng my original Apple ID (which it asks for during inital set up) it tells me that my

"username cannot be used to activate this iphone"

I am now stuck without a phone and I cannot find a way to access it again.

I can't even access the iCloud because it tells me I need to set it up on my iPhone first (which I have done previously but I still cannot proceed)

I desperately need some help.

Every solution I have seen & tried so far is no good, and I have seen mention that once this "lockout" has occurred... There's no way back into the phone 😟

Someone please help me out!

Note: I am the one & only owner of this iPhone 4S
