burn from iMovie

I know right. They changed iMovie so much it ****** me off. I hate the new iMovie it so complicated and can't do anything.

In iMovie 10 go to File>Share>File, choose the size (probably should choose either SD or Large) then click Next, give it a name, then click Save (remember where you saved it to).

Wait until the Activity Indicator shows that the sharing process is complete.

Go to iDVD. Go to File>Import>Video and select the file you created earlier. It will bring the video into your iDVD project. Prepare you DVD project and when you're ready, click the "Burn" button.

iDVD is no longer officially supported by Apple, but that doesn't mean you can't still use it. It's still a great option...possibly the best...for burning video DVDs on a Mac.

Do you have MacKeeper installed? If so, you need to uninstall it, then re-install iMovie. MacKeeper disables the Share functions in iMovie.

Do you have any other kind of "protection" software/utility installed? If not, just try re-installing iMovie.

MacKeeper is the most common cause of no share options.

Post a screenshot (hold down Command and Shift keys and type a number 3, this will save a screenshot to your Desktop, then upload it here by clicking the little camera icon in the toolbar).

I thought you were talking about iMovie 10, released in November of this year. The iMovie version that came with iLife has a share to iDVD option, which was your original problem.

This comes from the Mac App Store, not a DVD.

In Finder, move the iMovie 10 application from your Applications folder to the trash. Right click on the Trash and choose Empty Trash. Reboot your computer. Go to the Mac App Store and install iMovie.
