Q: lost password, control-S doesn't do anything. What to do?

don't have the admin password...

actually I did read the post.  This computer was donated to the non-profit I volunteer with.  I'm attempting to get this unit working.  The donor doesn't remember the admin password and the usual Control S at start-up only goes to the main login page not the single-user page as expected.

Mike- I mistyped, I am using the Command-S as you say, but it still comes up to the normal login screen...

Yes, its a newer Mac keyboard.  Yes, I start holding the keys down prior to hitting the power button.
